I shall certainly be glad to pay " W " * " involve. ;y ^ Jm i f With respect to the lead arsenate content* I think it best that we have as little lead and arsente contamination from this source as IS possible* We are not working on the arsenic end of this problem* and for the present, at least, m- we do not wish to* Moreover we are providing the lead in the form of a soluble salt and I do not wish to add any more than is necessary in the form of normal dietary lead to that which we experimentally provide* Obviously X should not mind having such quantity of lear arsenate aS might inadvertently be present on fruit as a normal article of diet* but X should not want any more than is :!hecessary* / .vi. . -, ;:y;r . As near as X can make out now, v' .V .'v'i';, & X shall want a sufficient quantity of the apple powder S to feed to two experimental subjects over a period of approximately a month*' X have no idea how much apple powder we should fded to obtain results comparable to those described by Dr. Shields, but X shall wish to try increasing quantities in order to study such effects without making the apple powder a large proportion of the total diet of my experimental subjects. It will be necessary in some measure to be guided by the wishes and appetites of the experimental subjects* since X can not exercise quite the same amount of control as might be aocoinplished experiments with rats.
