For painting on hard pines indicated, pare spirits turpentine should be used in excess of linseed oil for priming coats.
Second and third coats for use on woods in class three should also contain a liberal percentage of spirits turpentine, although in diminishing amount as compared to the primer coat.
On account oi the hazardous and paint repellant character of woods in this class, a satisfactory job of work cannot ever be done with two coats and should never be attempted. In a word, ior this class --use spirits turpentine liberally--apply paint moder ately or sparingly, use three coats and work wall into surface.
