J. M. Kapura Jim Kucera WEST PLANT STATUS/PROGRESS REPORT
The following safety related items are listed status and progress:
Fire Hose Reels
CP'T'
-their
During the recent freeze several hard rubber hoses on the
fire hose reels suffered damage to the equipment either by split
hoses or cracked elbow joints. All of this equipment has been
repaired and is in operable condition.
Safety Showers
W <_ 'cAc j xA u
All safety showers in the plant experienced some form of
freeze damage.
The brand of showers that we use are not
comparable to the ones in the east plant.
Plus they were a
combination of two different brands.
We still will have
different brand parts on the showers when they become operable.
Most of the broken parts have been replaced by Encon shower
parts. This is to try and standardize the showers to be the same
as the ones in the east plant. At least one shower in each
process unit has been repaired and is in use. We are now in an
interim stage waiting for parts to be delivered from the vendor
and parent company supplier.
We expect to have all showers
operable in three to four weeks.
Deluge Systems
CH/W-000508
Immediately following the freeze, the damage to the system
was investigated.
Sepecial parts had to be orderd from the
company that sold and installed the system. The parts were found
in San Antonio, Atlanta and' California. They were expedited to
us by the Automatic Sprinkler Corporation. We now have all of
the deluge systems broken valves, strainers, and pipes replaced.
Each individual system will be tested to examine for unobserved
damage. They can now be activated and are operabl^pEo^j-..yangj
emergency because any leak would be of minor stature.
