However I shall make it a point to look 11 up. On the other hand X do not think the sentence which you have quoted is necessarily open to serious criticism. Much would depend upon the associated information given with such a sentence. There is no doubt that lead is a cumulative poison under suitable conditions, and if this circular is dealing with the problem of occu pational lead exposure under potentially hazardous conditions, the statement made would not be out of order. The only trouble with such statements is that they produce the Implication that lead absorp tion In any dosage whatever is potentially dangerous. This is rather clearly untrue but unfortunately the space given brief publications does not permit the comprehensive discussion of the problem. . I think you must have been considerably disappointed with the paper which I presented at Pittsburgh. I was very sorry not only on your account, but because of a number of other persons who had especially Interested themselves in the subject, and I was unable to cover the subject as I had planned. Unfortunately in my preparation I followed the procedure which has been generally satisfactory at such meetings of anticipating more than my allotted time. The gentleman who preceded me on the program availed himself of this privilege to such an fextent that I was completely unable' to do so, and therefore I did not have a chance to present the most important aspects of the experimental work, which I was dealing.
