Re: Evaluation of USDS for Staytex 4119A
Dear Mr. SchreiJbeis:
Enclosed you will find a MSDS on unsaturated polyester resin based catpound and literature on the Staytex asbestos encapsulation system.
The Staytex system was used, as a trial, to encapsulate asbestos covering I beams in our T.S.P.S. building located in Belleville, NT.
Your evaluation of this product will be helpful in determining if v* should continue to encapsulate using this process.
Sincerely,
N1 - I tuff )

STAYTEX ASBESTOS ENCAPSULATION systems
The UNIQUE SOLUTION To Asbestos Abatement
. . . Suitable for all forms of asbestos . . . Provides a tough, rock-hard surface . . . Fast installation and economical costs
SYSTEMS DESCRIPTION
Unique Performance Staytex Asbestos Encapsulation Systems have been developed to provide permanent and highly cost-effective solutions for asbestos abatement. Staytex Systems are not coatings but provide a one-half inch thick structural, rock-hard shell over all forms of asbestos for permanent encapsulation and outstanding durability. The systems also provide improved thermal insulation and fire resistance to the encapsulated areas.
Outstanding Cost Effectiveness The outstanding cost effectiveness of Staytex Systems is achieved by four primary factors:
1. Initial costs are substantially less than asbestos removal. In applications where minimum asbestos fiber release during abatement work is necessary dueto facilities operations, Staytex Systems are often found to be the only acceptable solution.
2 Staytex Systems are installed quickly and in a clean manner. No solvents or free water are present which enables the materials to
be tack free within minutes after being applied. Dollars 8re saved since normal building operations and production sche dules can be maintained with minimal disruption. 15.000 to 20,000 square foot installationr have been completed in a single weekend.
3. Staytex Systems add thermal insulation and additional fire resistance to the encap sulated areas. Savings in heating and cooling costs improve the economic attrac tiveness of the systems.
4. The many performance features of Staytex Systems are a result of patented polymer technology and result in systems that are virtually maintenance free. Costly repair and replacement work normally required with ordinary materials is eliminated and is a primary reason why Staytex Systems are the obvious choice for many diverse appli cations.
For these reasons and others, Staytex Systems truly offer a unique solution to asbestos abatement.

UNIQUE FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Etaytex Systems have been developed and enginred to encapsulate friable and other forms of asbestos. The systems have been tested at safety factors exceeding 100 to document their ability to itay in place. For friable asbestos, the Systems are iften the only solution to asbestos abatement other than more expensive removal procedures.
The Systems provide a patented, tough, rock-hard surface that withstands severe abuse.
The Systems are approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for food processing environments
chich illustrates the excellent chemical resistance rand washability of the systems.
The Systems are extremely resistant to abrasion and puncture -- important features in areas such as school corridors snd other high traffic areas.
The Systems provide a seamless barrier to moisture and water vaporto assure long-term reliable perfor mance.
The Systems have color throughout the material, not Just on the surface. Numerous colors are ^available to fullfill a wide range of aesthestic requirements.
