SUBJECT: JOINT SYSTEM - ASBESTOS CONTROL
cc: Mr. John DiLorenzo - Portland Mr. V. J. Tretter, Jr. - Portland Mr. H. W. Peele - Wilmington Mr. Bill Hammer - Akron

LOCATION: Akron
On April 13, 1973 Bill Hammer and I appeared in the office of the assistant Industrial Commissioner to meet the requirements of a summons issued by the State of New York, Department of Labor. This Summons was issued 4-5-73 and received in Akron 4-7-73.
We were to show cause why a prosecution should not be commenced against Georgia Pacific For violation of order CR 12-1.6 (a) (2) issued on 10/27/72. This is regarding an order to control or remove asbestos from the air to protect the Joint System Employees.
After a very short meeting we were advised that our onlv problem at this time is our failure to file plans in triplicate for approval with the New York State Department of Labor, Division of Industrial Hygine, 2447 Sheridan Drive, Tonawanda, New York, 14150. This plan must be in their file and the required fees paid by April 30, 1973. When these plans are filed and the fees paid there will be no longer cause for prosecution.
The originals of the application forms and instruction sheet have been included with Mr. John DiLorenzo's copy of this memo. I have attached a Xerox Copy of this same information to each copy of this- memo.
At this time I cannot over emphasize the Importance of getting
the proper plans on file and the fees paid by April 30, 1973 aordered
by the commissioner.
