McCann Resources, Inc/Hulah Lake Lease Inspection Date: 03/31/2021
Section I - INTRODUCTION Purpose of inspection EPA Region 6 inspector Kent Sanborn arrived at the McCann Resources, Inc. Hulah Lake facility at 10:00 am on 03/31/2021 for an inspection of a lease that reportedly had an oil and brine spill. There were no facility representatives present at the site. The inspection was conducted under the authority of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to assess a previously reported spill from a producing oil well. The scope of the inspection is to assess unauthorized discharges and impacts of nearby water resources under the CWA.
Facility Description The facility was a producing well identified as well 1A in SW 10-28N-11E (Osage County, Oklahoma).
Section II - OBSERVATIONS I had the following observations during the inspection: The producing well had leaked from a line a short distance to the lease road. The spill did not enter the lake or a flowing stream. Some oil staining in the leaves but pools of remaining fluids only measured 380-1,500 milligrams per liter (mg/L) Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). All measurements were taken with a successfully calibrated YSI conductivity meter. The flow line had been repaired.
