A very sincere thank you for your consideration in sending us a copy of your technical paper presented to the Society of Plastics Engi neers, of the Report of the Advisory Committee on Asbestos Cancers to the Director of WHO, and of the article that appeared in "1972/2 Review" published by CIBA-GEIGY. At long last we have been able to read through the three items and, as you would suspect, found them of extreme interest. We had seen the GEIGY article but are glad to have a second copy for the file. You may not have received your May 1973 issue of ASBESTOS as yet, so enclosed herewith is a duplicate copy for your immediate reference. Please note specifically the article on page 6 re AIA/NA's report on the findings of the Advisory Committee on Asbestos Cancers, Lyon conference. We had not heretofore secured a complete copy of the Report and are delighted to have the copy you so kindly furnished. Your technical paper is an excellent summation of what has been hap pening at OSHA and EPA and the effect on and/or reaction of the Asbestos Industry. We would like to further review your paper, edit and condense to make it suitable for ASBESTOS, and update to include such happenings as the EPA Regulations issued April 6, 1973 (see May 1973 ASBESTOS, page 7). We are also considering including the fact that Cincinnati City Council has approved a law prohibiting the use of asbestos sprays and that the Oregon health division proposes to implement a program that is to be as effective as the present Federal Standard. Have you any objections to our editing, condensing, updating, etc.p We'll gladly send you a draft copy before scheduling the article for a given issue, if you so desire. Also, we certainly will credit you as the author of the technical paper that served as the basis for the article. Any comments you have to offer at this time will be most appreciated. Thank you.
