The Annual Business Meeting of the membership of the American Industrial Hygiene Association was called to order by President H. H. Schrenk at 12 noon, May 11, 1944, in the Gold Room, NewHotel Jefferson, St. Louis, Missouri. Approx imately 100 members were present at the meeting.
President Schrenk reported that the resolution which was approved at the Annual Business Masting of the Association on May 26, 1943, regarding the utilisation of industrial hygiene personnel had been carried out.
W. P. Tent end M. Bowditch met with representatives of the Maritime Commiss ion and the Surgeon Generals of the Anny, Naiy, and the U. S. Public Health Service. Afavorable report was reoeived from the representatives of our Association who attended this meeting.
Another resolution was passed at the Business Meeting on May 26, 1943, regarding the labeling of solvents. In aoeordanoe with this resolution, President Schrenk reported that he had written to Donald Nelson, Chairman of the War Production Board, and Thomas Parran, Surgeon General, U. S. Publie Health Service. A representa tive from the War Production Board indicated that they recognised the need for such labeling, hot pointed out that this activity was outside their normal jurisdiction. They referred the Association to other groups who were interested in this activity. The Surgeon General also indicated a desire to further the labeling activities which they have already established, end in order to accomplish this, the President of our Association has been asked by the Board of Directors to appoint a eonsnittee to meet with the committee which has already been established by the Surgeon General of the U. S. Publie Health Service. Further activity in connection with this resolution can be expected.
President Sehrenk indicated that a definite meeting place for the Annual Meeting in 1945 had not been selected. Among the several cities which are receiving favorable consideration by the Board of Directors are Boston and Atlantic City. Sine this is a joint meeting with other Associations, further consideration will be necess ary before a definite decision is made on the meeting place.

President Schrenk reported briefly on the meeting of the Loo&l Section Council at which there was discussion of a paid executive secretary, local seetion constitutions, stimulation of local section activities, and the estab lishment of definite boundaries for each local section* The Local Section Council requested that local sections be informed of any proposed action by the Board of Directors with respect to a paid executive secretary. President Schrenk indicated that all of these items had been given consideration at the Board of Directors meeting held on May 10, 1944.
The Secretary's report was read by E. C. Barnes* Motion was made by P. W. Simaer, seconded by Philip Drinker, and unanimously approved, to accept the Secretary's report as read.
The Treasurer's report was read by J. 3. Littlefield* Motion was made by J. J. Bloomfield, seoonded by Philip Drinker, and unanimously approved, to accept the Treasurer's report, subject to the approval of the Auditing Camaittee.
President Schrenk called for any business that might come before the meeting and since there was no further discussion, the meeting was adjourned at 12:30 P.M* upon motion by Philip Drinker, seoonded by J. J. Bloomfield, and unanimously approved.
