DIGGS ORGANIC CHEMICALS DEPARTMENT N-7451 REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDS ON MR-1055 (Study Involving Long-Distance Lead Particulate Transport) This project was originally submitted to cover the cost of taking soil cores, fall out samples, and air samples at selected sites around the world for lead analysis. At the present time, there is approximately $1700 remaining in the project. A recent shipment of soil samples has been sent to Trapelo Laboratories for special isotope studies. These studies are going to cost approximately $4300. It is felt that $3400 will be required to cover studies involved in obtaining air samples aboard oceangoing vessels. These two items result in a cost of $7700. We are requesting $6000 ($7700-1700) to cover these costs. If additional work is necessary a request for additional funds will be submitted.
