UNITED STATES GCT^ 'JMENT Memorandum Ssck GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION TO )1 ' FROM : i Depot Manager - 7MSB ' GSA-DMS Baton Rouge Depot Baton Rouge, Louisiana SUBJECT: Memorandum for the" record Dmc: September 21, 1965 la reply itfa to: 7MSB During telephone conversation this date with Mr. Sal Imbraguglio, DMS, Dallas, Texas, a discussion was held pertaining to the 12,000 bags of Amoslte Asbestos that were discharged from the "Letitla Lyk.es" at the Fort of New Orleans and Are being shipped to the depot by rail on con tract BSD-SM-64-12-33. Mr. Imbraguglio advised that all asbestos from this one lot would be re* ceived at the depot, an accurate count and tally be prepared for each railroad car unloaded, and when all asbestos has been received, all short ages will be offset by the overages in each car, then an Over, Short and/ r Damage Report prepared for the entire lot. As experience has shown, asbestos is very difficult to count as it is be ing placed in the conveyance, and numerous overages and shortages occur. This action would eliminate the preparation and processing of an excessive number of OS&D Reports which would result in a savings to the Government, /Terrell E.
