I. President Rainey called the neeting to order and deferred the regular order of business to permit Hr. C.L. Sheekler to address
the Board.
2. Hr. Sheekler explained vhat hr felt the A.T.Z. should attempt to
accomplish in the way of industry-wide efforts to reduce the dust haxard to operatives For example, "vet-weaving" should be adopted
Industry wide. Stated that the British asbestos textile industry
have done this. Feels also, that in th# future there will be a lav airing wet-weaving mandatory.
?1r. Sheekler reeonended that A.T.Z. set up an "fiavironmental Control Committee* and offered suggestions as to its membership.
Be visualised that this oeonltteo would relaasa news on Health Problems, handle liaison betvesn companies on mutual problems, and liaison with ether groups like Insulation mgr*. Association. Be
mentioned that hie company was now cooperating with Dr.Selikoff, widely known for hie reaeareb work on health of asbestos pipeeoverera, who has recently boon naaed to head an "Zne^latioa Industry
Hygiene Research Program*, a eaibined effort Involving an internat
ional labor union, industry, medical science, and the Federal Gov't.
3. Kr.J.a. Brown,Jr. moved that A.T.Z. set up a eoamaittee as recom mended by Ilr. Sheekler. Kotlon was seconded by lir. L.E. rioody.
Approval was unanimous.
President Rainey 'offared for consideration a suggested resolution: 9 She Board of Governors of the Asbestos Textile Institute, recog
nising that every effort to control environmental dust problems
should be encouraged wherever feasible and acting on the advice of the Air Hygiene & iianufeeturiiig Committee, recommends that
all member companies of the Institute consider mdoptioa of the
'wet-weaving* process with all deliberate speed."
Mr.R.P. Clark moved that the Resolution be approved, his motion was seconded by J.A. Brows,Jr.,and approval vae by unanimous vote.

8. President Rainey announced that the late cf the next General Meeting would be October 3-k, 1966, at Hotel Herehey, Herahey,Pa. This la a fine hotel, located in the interesting Pennsylvania Dutch oountry, with such to see and do. As la customary at our annual masting each October, members are urged to make a special effort to bring thir vires to this meeting]
Mr. Rainey announced also, that the winter meeting of A.T.Z. would be at the GRAND BOTSL, Point Clear, Ala* (near Mobile) and the dates are February 6-7, 196. This is a very ftmcua hostelry and those who have attended meetings of other aeeociatiene there are sure that A.T.Z* lumbers and their wives will greatly enjoy their visit to the ORAHD HOTEL1
