We have not received any further word fro* your company, and it may be your plant is still using Thermlnol FR fluids, zf such is the case, we wont to review with you the desirability of discontinuing their use.
In May, 1972 the Federal government's Task Force on PCBe recommended against the use of FCBs as heat transfer fluids. Enclosed is a summary of their proposals. Also enclosed is a copy of a Mall Street Journal article highlighting re strictive action proposed by the FDA.
In April, 1972 our Mr. Fapegeorge sent a letter addressed to the "Plant Manager* of your plant. You nay want to review this letter (copy enclosed) for additional background on this KB subject.
Me want you to be aware that sons Federal and State agencies are sampling plant effluents and marine life looking for, anong other things, FOB chemistry, zf PCS is found, the agencies tend to determine the PCS source.
Zn light of tike above, we believe you should seriously con sider converting your fhexminol FR system, in the event you have converted to a non-KB fluid, we would appreciate know ing the disposition of the used FR containing fluids.
