aia-aerospace.org AEROSPACE INDUSTRIES ASSOCIATION February 13, 2025 The Honorable Sean Duffy Secretary U.S. Department of Transportation 1200 New Jersey Avenue, SE Washington, DC 20590 Dear Secretary Duffy, On behalf of the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) and our more than 300 member companies representing an industry of over 2.2 million American workers, congratulations on your confirmation as Secretary of Transportation. We look forward to working with you, the Administration, and Congress as a trusted industry partner to advance the safety, efficiency, and innovation of the U.S. aerospace industry. AIA's civil aviation priorities include aviation safety, certification, integration of new technologies and capabilities into the National Airspace System, as well as ensuring that critical aviation spectrum remains safe from unintended interference. We engage with the FAA and other key stakeholders, including offices within the Department, to further our work in these areas and communicated our focus in these areas when we met with the DOT transition team last month. Given the events of last year related to aviation safety, and, now with the recent accidents, we have placed even more emphasis on safety management systems, risk management, and related topics and look forward to providing you details of this focus. AIA members are very eager to understand DOT's priorities in order to determine how industry might be able to assist you and your staff. We would be honored to have you speak at our Board of Governors meeting being held May 21-22 in Washington, DC. AIA's Board members are CEOs and other senior executives of America's leading aerospace and defense companies, ranging from the largest manufacturers to critical supply chain companies. We will gladly tailor the agenda to meet your availability, and truly hope you will consider participating at that event. If your schedule does not allow for participation in May, we are happy to arrange a meeting for you with AIA's Executive Committee, which is the leadership subset of the Board, composed of 20 CEO-level officers across the country's major aerospace companies. A meeting with the Executive Committee can be arranged at your convenience. Thank you in advance for your consideration of these opportunities and I am very happy to meet with you in advance to provide additional information. In the interim, please do not hesitate to contact me directly if I can be of any assistance. Sincerely, Eric Fan i g President and CEO Aerospace Industries Association 1000 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 1700 Arlington, VA 22209-3928 703.358.1000 OST-2025-1200 Page 03097 Sierra Club v.
