Dear Fukuma-San:
Sorry for the delay in responding to your request to put Japanese warning labels on bags. We have been checking into using a bag-printer, but have decided that this method would probably not be acceptable, lie feel that the ink would run and make the characters unreadable.
If you will provide the' labels, we will apply them to all bags shipped to you, at no extra charge. This will be an interim measure as we plan to have the Japanese warning printed on bags as new ones are purchased. Can you send us sample labels that are at least twice as large as the stick-on labels? This is to provide our bag supplier with larger characters to be sure they get the printing accurate.
With regard to net weights of RG-144 bags mentioned in your letter of 10/1/76, we cannot improve bag weight control without installing new equipment. Under today's business conditions we cannot justify the expense. The plant advises me that our bag weight control averages 95% +1 lb., and that control to + 0.5 lbs. is not possible with existing packaging equipment.
Very truly yours.
