Dear Dr. Kehoe:
1 have Just received from a German scientist Interested in lea_d poisoning today and historically, some ideas that may interest you. h 4 is Regierungs- und Gewerberat Bag. Detlev StSfen, Gewerbeaufsichtsamt in Montabaur, who translated those Russian articles.
/ He suggests that lead deposits in the bones are mostly oxides, but in ground water they are more salts of lead,. Would it be possible thus to distinguish the two sources of lead?
He also cites the finding of a Professor emeritus Matthias, formerly of Ann Arbor (?) that there appears in the United States a,:n astonishing amount of "Apathie which might be due to lead.. He refers to an official report on youth, of the 3uhd.esfamilienminlsterium (US or German ?) that youth of today are quieter and more adjusted than thirty years ago, and according to new Russian researches their spermatozoa are less active if the blood contains heavy metals or chlorinated, hydrocarbons in concentrations below the pathological limit.
