Since you could not be with us at our first meeting X am sending you a copy of the Minutes. As X see our objectives, we have first to reassure the users and handlers of our finished products and allay the fears that may have resulted from the unfavorable publicity on health injuries to those exposed to excessive quantities of asbestos dust over long periods of time. I think this could develop into one of the most important aspects of our work and the subcommittee gathering informa tion will have one representative from each company. I would very much like to have you act as Chairman of this subcommittee with all the assistance X can give you. X visualize this committee as being composed of safety and operating men rather than being sales oriented. Without circumscribing the scope of the committee's work it can be a means of exchanging information between the companies on the hazards and on ways to control the hazards. Secondly, the committee can consider such things as disposal of asbestos waste and controL of asbestos dust leaving the environment of the plant and entering the environment of the workers homes and the plant neighborhood. 15G72 WV-1208 Mr. Frank il.
