The attached letter from Senator Kennedy to one of our members, particularly paragraph 4, indicates the need for tuch Information. While this statement does not accurately reflect Information provided at hearings conducted by Senator Kennedy, St nonetheless represents his personal understanding of the industry's position. If the Association is to counter this position, it must hove accurate information. Admittedly the technical ability of the industry to meet o .06% standard is only one issue in the overall problem. However, the Association must have the information which I am requesting on the attached questionnaire, if we ore to properly represent ourselves and the industry in future relations with the U. S. Congress and other legislative bodies. Therefore, I am requesting your help by providing me with your company's current position on the mortars of load and marcury by filling out and return ing at soon at possible the vary short questionnaire attached.
