The Honorable Sean Duffy Secretary U.S. Department of Transportation 1200 New Jersey Ave, SE Washington, DC 20590
Dear Secretary Duffy:
I am pleased to write in strong support for the Capital District Transportation Authority's (CDTA) application to the Federal Transit Administration's Low or No Emission and Bus Facilities Grant Programs.
CDTA is the regional public transportation provider for New York's Capital Region, serving approximately 1.1 million residents in seven counties with a range of mobility services. It plays a critical role in connecting people to jobs, schools, healthcare, and economic opportunity while supporting environmental sustainability and regional growth.
This proposed funding would support the purchase of new hybrid buses and the implementation of a modern Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system--investments that are essential as CDTA continues to expand its services across a growing geographic area and rising ridership. The new hybrid buses would help CDTA reduce emissions and modernize its fleet, while the EAM system would improve maintenance, reliability, and long-term planning.
It is important that the CDTA receives the necessary resources to continue to provide safe and reliable mobility options that connects that connect communities and families to jobs, schools, healthcare facilities, and recreational activities and destinations.
I urge your full and favorable consideration of this project. Should you require additional information, please contact my Washington, D.C. office at (b)(6)
Sincerely,
Charles E. Schumer United States Senator
