MlcrotoxN Inhibition Page 1 July 26, 1005 Microbks' MicrotoxTMAnalyzer is a temperature controlled photometric device which measures the reduction in bioluminescence of a naturally occurring marine bacterium, Photobecferium phosphorem, in response to a chemical toxicant The NlicrotoxN System pmvkies a simple and inexpensive method for the rapid screening of microbial toxicity of chemical substances and waste streams. It requires only a small sample she and permits duplicate determinations of one sample in 30-minutes. Toxicity of a chemical compound is reported as a percent decream in light output. Similar to conventional bioassay toxicity data (e.g.. LCso), EC50 is used for MicmtoxN data. EC50 is defined as the concentration of a toxicant causing a 50% reduction in light output firom the base-line level. lk&abmw &P=m -rn L-13492, Lot 2, 45% solids, 5/4/95 Clear, colorless liquid Aqueous Solubility Apparently completely miscible with water.
