REPORT SUMMARY Industrial Hygiene Survey "We called on this policyholder to review the proposal for a new materials handling system in the asbestos treating "department. Our study of the asbestos dust hazard had indicated that additional controls were required to reduce the concentration of airbom asbestos dust to which workers were exposed. "An index of performance for the dust collectors is the static suction pressure produced on the clean and dirty sides of the collector, and we suggested the use of a permanently mounted manometer connected to both sides of=jfche-collector for easy determination of these pressures. Mr. Reybold will provide for this gaging device. -- "Mrs. Fraticelli, R.N., reviewed for us the status of chest X rays, which are on schedule for workers exposed to asbestos. "We suggested to Mr. Reybold that when the modifications to the asbestos handling system have been completed and the weather is cold enough to operate with doors and windows closed, a follow-up asbestos dust study be performed, and this will be arranged*" - - ...
