On behalf of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), I would like to congratulate you on your confirmation as Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. NAHB looks forward to working with you as you bring your leadership and experience to the Agency during this critical time for our nation's economy and, in particular, during the uneven recovery for the U.S. home building industry.
NAHB is committed to working with you and your leadership team to promote sound environmental policies that protect our nation's water, air, and land while simultaneously respecting the rights of states to manage their resources and avoiding undue economic burdens for small businesses, states, and local governments. W e look forward to your leadership as EPA heeds the President's call for regulatory reform and takes steps to reduce the regulatory burdens that are needlessly raising housing costs for hard-working families without adding benefit to the environment - including those associated with the Clean W ater Act's "waters of the U.S." rule, lead-based paint requirements, stormwater permitting, and emissions reduction initiatives, among others.
