April 11, 1960 Dr. George Saunders Medical Director Socony Mobil Oil Company Inc., 105 East 42nd Street New York 17, New York Dear George: I send you herewith two (2) copies of a recent report of our observations on the potential hazard of the actual use of gasoline containing TML in a commercial gasoline under somewhat less than ideal conditions. The results of these observations are sufficient to convince me that my former concern over this matter was somewhat excessive. Observations will be under way shortly to determine whether any hazard can be found over a longer period of time. This is really the only question which now remains to be answered, so far as operations in the U.S.A. are concerned, and I feel reasonably certain that they will yield negative results. I'll talk with you about the European situation later. Sincerely yours, Robert A. Kehoe, M. D. P.S. I also send you one copy of a brief report on the toxicity of TML. There will be more on this later. R. A. K. RAX:ss Enclosures
