Dear Dr. Kehoe: , It has cone to ray attention that Barber Motors, Inc., a Cleveland Oldsnobile dealer* has sold and installed approximately 70 Vitameters on his customers' cars. He obtains his Vitol from a friendly car dealer in Columbus and trucks it up here as he needs it, at the rate of about 70 gallons per month. M y knowledge of this use of Vitol comes to me second hand through others in the company whom he has approached to obtain Vitameters and Vitol directly from us. Upon my advice he has been refused both products. As I have considered the matter further however, it occurred to me that it might be worthwhile to have Barber Motors employees examined by Dr. Kitzmiller as part of the group subject to observation here in Cleveland. This might be valuable because of the comparatively large volume of fluid handled - probably more than at any single outlet in Columbus. It would even be convenient for us to see that this volume was increased by allowing installations to be made on a given number of company officials' cars who would visit Barber Motors for the installation and subsequent supply of fluid. This fluid could be made available either in drums or quart cans depending upon the type of exposure with which we desire experience. Incidentally, controlled Vitameter installations and Vitol supply at Barber Motors, Inc. would solve the problem for us of satisfying continual requests from executives in our own company and their counter-parts in Cleveland industrial concerns.
