On February 12, 1975, a meeting was held between menbers of the Medical Department and the Mechanical Division to discuss current practices in working with asbestos materials. O'Neill Furnishing Clothing for Asbestos Removal Following a discussion of OSHA requirements for the furnishing and laundering of special clothing for workers engaged in removing asbestos insulation materials, it was agreed that the following proposals would be studied: 1. Use mechanical planners to identify and plan those,jobs involving significant removal of insulation and where special clothing is to be provided. 2. When feasible such work would be planned for weekends or for shifts having the lowest potential exposure for employees not directly, engaged in removal 3. The possibility of using single-use disposable coveralls for pro tection against asbestos will be explored. Posting Signs in Asbestos Work Areas F. S. Venable will furnish the Mechanical Division with suggested wording for signs to be placed in areas where asbestos dust arising from removal or other landling operations is present.
