Box 1057-R Morristown, NJ 07960 Dear Jim, Subject: Emmision Standard The EPA has not yet decid ing the compromise with the Environmental DefenceTund, leading to the proposed ammendments to the National Air Emmision Standard for vinyl chloride, as published in the Federal Register of June 2, 1977. The Emmission Standards and Engineering Division, EPA, Research Triangle North Carolina, has refined its recommendation to the Administrator of EPA during the last week. If the headquarters of EPA goes along with the recommendations, the time required for modification of the Standard is about three months. Any change in the Standards would not be published until April, 1978. If the recommendations of the Standards and Engineering Division are not acceptable to the EPA Assistant Administrator, and others in the EPA Headquarters, the changes in the Standards will be delayed even further. The Standards and Engineering Division Personnel working on the proposed changes include: Don. R. Goodwin, Suzann Wyatt, and Fred Porter. They have attempted to consider and respond to all comments as written in response to the proposed ammendment, as well as consideration of the oral comments made at the two hearings.
