ROBERT H. SCHULLER Author and Senior Pastor of the Crystal Cathedral "The Theology of Self-Esteem." Dr. Schuller's topic will be "Pos sibility Thinking" -- a dynamic ap proach to self-confidence and a strong future that can benefit everyone alike. Well-versed in this subject, Dr. Schuller has authored numerous books on the power of positive think ing, including: Move Ahead With Possibility Thinking; It's Possible; Discover Your Possibilities; and Turn Your Stress Into Strength. Born in Alton, Iowa on September 16, 1926, Dr. Schuller attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan, where he concentrated his studies in psychology and history and won numerous competitive awards in debate and oratory. After receiving his B.A. degree in 1947, Dr. Schuller entered Western Theological Seminary, also in Holland, Michigan. Dr. Schuller has received numerous awards for his creative com munications. He has also been award ed several honorary doctorates. He is a member of the Board of Religion in American Life and was named an Honorary Member of the Religious Guild of Architects of the American Institute of Architects. He is also listed in Who's Who in America. In 1973, Dr. Schuller was the recipient of the Freedom Foundation of Valley Forge's Principal Award, the highest national award for a sermon. In 1977, Religious Heritage of America named him "Clergyman of the Year." Dr. Schuller's home base for over twenty-five years is the church in California now called the Crystal Cathedral -- a glass-sheathed sanc tuary which houses the congregation of over 10,000 members. 13
