Senior Scientist Walls contacted - indicates no reasonable commercially available system will dis criminate between H^S, SOg, and HC1. We will pro ceed with "conservative" system, sensitive to all three. Target for AFE April 15 with design completion in third quarter. V. C. 3. Project 3135 approved 1/21/69 to provide valves on Acetone storage and two benzene feed tanks at Biphenyl. Project for alcohol, xylene and acetone at Niran being reviewed. Design package transmitted to Maintenance 2/18/69 (suggest moving to Maintenance section of report). (Third line from bottom should read No. 1 furnace, rather than No. 2) March comment - AFE for system similar to No. 1 will be prepared by 5/1/69.
