INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE ASSOCIATION

-h :: v. .'.1 :t
To the Board of Directors
We have just received word from Dr. E. C. Holmblad that the application; for a permit to hold the Third Y7ar Conference on Industrial Health at Chicago during the week of April 23, 1345, has been denied. Announcements of the cancellation of this Conference and the Annual Meeting of the American Industrial Hygiene Association are being sent to all our members within the next few days. The next issue of "Industrial Medicine" will also announce this cancellation. It seems best that we do not mention the fact that an application for a permit had been made.
The election of officers will proceed as usual. The ballots will be mailed Out within the next ten days and after the votes are counted, the results will be announced to the membership by letter.
After discussing the matter with President J. J. Bloomfield, there does not sjeem to be sufficient urgent business to justify calling a meeting of the; Board of Directors at present. If problems arise whioh require action by the Board of Directors, they will either be handled by correspondence or by calling a meeting at some future date.
Disposition of papers that have been submitted will be handled by the Program Committee and the Editorial Committee.
