(Cholak spoke to me about his reply and I told hi: I*d take care of it). First as to the biographical resume. I am now, as always hard pressed for time, and, therefore, I send you a more or less complete biographical outline. You will find what you need in it, I believe, but I suggest, if I may, without intend ing to be dictatorial, that it would be most to my liking if you ware to maka the introduction brief and simple by referring .narily to my position in this University. My best work has an done here in this Laboratory, and the rest of it is trimming. As to the report of the Donora investigation, as we pursued the matter, no report was ever published. We prepared a report in manuscript form (of which there are several copies), but there was little purpose or occasion for publishing it, after the report of the USPJiS group came out, for the reason that both groups came out (by somewhat different courses) to the same conclusion. We did not have the fund3 with which to publish it, and time was at a great premium during that period. Consequently, it was never published. I have had reason to regret this ever since, bu t I still do not see my way clear, nor do I have sufficient renson, to publish it. Bill Ashe directed, and actually did most of the clinical work, and it was well done. Lester B. Roberts contributed greatly to planning of the survey, and Cholak and his group, of course, did the work of sampling and analysis. It was a good Job, but, as I have said, above, that of Schrenk and hi s group in the USPHS was also good, and except for the different approaches, they came out with very nearly the same conclusions.
