Throdahl - DID Attached for your information are two Monsanto papers discussing health and toxicity effects of PCB's, prepared by Dr. George Levinskas of DMEH. One paper documents the three two-year chronic rat feeding studies on three different Aroclors, contracted at IBT. (These results have never before been made available in a general publication with Monsanto comments.) The second paper is a very detailed review and evaluation of literature studies dealing with carcinogenicity and mutagenicity of PCB's and encompasses four major areas: chronic rodent studies, metabolism, co-carcinogenesis, and mutagenicity. A brief summary of human epidemiology, using Gaffey's recent review, is added to complete the overview on carcinogenicity. The papers have undergone extensive review in-house by the Biohazards Committee, Legal Departments, etc. These papers, along with Dr. Gaffey's epidemiology review, k have been submitted to CMA for inclusion in the industry response to the DC Circuit Court in EDF vs. EPA due November 16.
