I'm dreadfully sorry about the delay in my receipt of your letter. The first, addressed to Green Street, arrived there after Lucile and I had returned to Cincinnati (still 345 Baser Avenue, zip cod ~ 45220) a^id was delayed in being forwarded because no one was in residence tiiere at the time. The second on you addressed to Irene Campbell arrived on my desk at the Laboratory today. I believe the other, to LUcile's sister, came to our attention via a telephone call from Gladys after the first copy of it had arrived in Cincinnati, and was apt forwarded. The trouble in reaching me cam about, I regret to say, because of our being in San Francisco only until February 18, and then being out of circulation, so to speak, for about two weeks thereafter. 1 1continue to work at the Laboratory in Emeritus capacity, and expect to do so for some time to come. I Ihave written to the Detroit Laboratory of Ethyl Corporation so as to lt them know about the situation of which you have told me. I have iiained contact with them through the years and am a consultant to le management. I'll let you know as promptly as any information comes to ma concerning this situation. I write this in some haste and economy, since X am under a bit of pressure in an editing Job.
