Recommended for heating, plumbing, air-condition ing service where condensation is problem. J-M MICRO-LOK FIBER GLASS PIPE INSULATION Description: Micro-Lok Pipe insulation is made from long, fine glass fibers molded to form one-piece, three-foot sections in all standard wall thicknesses, for use on all standard iron pipe and copper tubing sizes. Temperature limits are from 370F maximum to sub-zero. (Consult J-M for low tempera ture applications.) For hot and cold water supply lines, heat ing supply and return lines, dual temperature lines and chilled water, brine, refrigerant and process piping. Properties: Density--3.50 lb nominal. Moisture absorption --less than 03% by volume. Alkalinity (expressed as NaaO) less than 2%. Corrosivity (with steel, copper, aluminum)-- does not cause or accelerate. Thermal diflusivity--@ 150F mean temperature 0.032 sq ft/hr. Thermal Conductivity: Average values for use in heat loss calculations. Application: Micro-Lok features an automatic "spring hinge" opening and closing action, as shown below. It opens easily over the entire length and springs shut to assure a snug closure that minimizes heat loss or gain. The fiber lay up permits easy and accurate cutting of the inside diameter to conform to fittings, etc. Micro-Bar Duct Liner forms readily with the metal in the brake without damage- Edges won't crumble. Conforms readily to irregu lar surfaces. J-M Micro-Aire duct sections have factory-formed "slip joints" for strong, snug connections. Tight sea] is completed with pressuresensitive tape. J-M FIBER GLASS DUCT WRAPS Facings: All J-M fiber glass duct wraps are available plain, or with factory-applied vapor barriers such as standard and lightweight reinforced paper, reinforced foil and paper, alum* inum foil, vinyl film. Where required, a 2-inch sealing tab is available on one edge, and on 2 edges of some widths. Aerotube slides onto even the most complex bends--6 feet at a time--in just seconds. This bend took only 7 seconds to insulate! Physical Properties: WVT, less than 0.1 Perms. Water absorption, 3.9% by volume (60 days immersion). Density, 7.5 lbs/cu ft (All figures average values obtained in accord ance with accepted test methods.) Application: 6' lengths slide onto even the most complex bends of iron pipe or copper tubing. On connected pipe, Aerotube is slit longitudinally, snapped on the pipe and cemented into place. Also available in sheets for use on flat surfaces.
