So*. 265 1940 -- January 51 BESCHORMAN AND THOMPSON RETIRE FROM BOARD The retirements of V. C. Besohorman and G. V. Thompson as directors of National Lead Company were announced at the close of the board meeting on Jan. 30. Mr. Beschorman, who was executive vice-president at the time of his retirement in 1938, began his career with the Company as a salesman with the Cincinnati branch in 1894. In 1924 he was made a director and three years later became a vice-president. Dr. Thompson*s retirement brings to a close a 48-year association with the Company. He started as ohief chemist in 1892 and was made a director ial 1916. GEATTY AND BURLEY ELECTED DIRECTORS C. A. Qeatty and V. V. Burley were elected direotors of National Lead Company at the board meeting on Jan, 80. Mr. Geatty, who is manager of metal sales, has been with the Company since 1899. He was made assistant manager of the Baltimore branch in 1988 and manager of the Atlantic branch metal division five years later. He succeeded the late L. T. Wilson as manager of metal sales in 1988* Mr. Burley, manager of the St. Louis branch, joined the Company as an auditor in 1922, later becoming manager of the Mueller Brass Foundry id St. Louis. He was made comptroller of the Magnus Metal Co. in 1984 and held that position until his appointment as acting manager of the St. Louis brn&dh in February last year. He was made manager of the branch in July. NEW COMPANY DIVISION ORGANIZED The former De Lore Works of the National Pigments & Chemical Division* which has operated as a part of the St. Louis branch since last July, has been organised as a separate division of National Lead Company, Called the De Lore Division* it is under the general direction of 0. P. De Lore ae manager. :f SALES COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS F. K. McCarthy, manager of the Cincinnati branch, has been made a member of the white-lead sales oommittee in succession to W. A. Dail, who passed away on Nov. 5, H. W. Hundley, assistant manager of the Cincinnati branch, has been ' appointed suooessor to Mr. Dail on the metal sales oommittee. Hudson joined the sales staff' of the Hoyt Ustal Co. in St. Louis in 1901. He was appointed sales of mixed metals in 1912 and continued in that capacity when the Hoyt firm was consolidated with National Lead Company in 1929 HEADS SALESMENS CLUB Walter A. Coffey, on the sales staff of the Boston branch, was sleeted president of the Faint Trade Salesmen's Club of Hew England at the anroml meeting of the organization on Jan. 20. R. H. STAHDISH BECOMES BANK OFFICIAL Judge Ray H.
