^PROPOSED STATEMENT ON INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE FOR REFINERY SAFETY MANUAL PLAINTIFF'S EXHIBIT SH-3656 'The industrial hygiene program at DPMC consists primarily of sampling -programs to determine employee exposure to toxic materials. Sampling programs -include full-shift personnel samples on employees performing their normal duties, -area samples to determine sources and extent of emissions, spot samples to insure safe work conditions during specific tasks, and monitoring programs ^during shutdowns, initial startups, or other special periods. Results of all -personal samples are provided to the appropriate managers for posting in the ^control rooms. Employees are entitled to see results of all personal sampling. iiie priority and extent of sampling programs is determined by the . industrial hygienist, taking into account toxicity of the various materials, -number of employees potentially exposed, probable extent of exposure, and OSHA acquirements.
