Dear Ms. Katz:
This letter is to confirm my conversation with Steve Smith regarding Vista MSDS's for Light Aromatic Concentrate and Heavy Ends EDC/VCM. These sheets were edited in July of this year. The preparation date appears in the lower left hand corner of page 4.
Based on the reference materials you sent me, it is clear that the name of the person preparing the MSDS's is not required. Also, this would add little to the hazard information of the MSDS as the day-time and emergency phone numbers listed on page 1 are the numbers needed to obtain additional or emergency information.
Based on the other constituents in LAC the autoignition temperature for benzene would not accurately represent the hazard for the product.
Please contact me if you have further questions.
Sincerely,
Thomas^G. Grumbles, CIH Environmental Quality Manager

Dear Mr. Larson:
This letter is in response to your request for information regarding the presence of the following PCB and PCB related chemicals in our Baltimore and Lake Charles Alkylate Bottoms.
1. Polychlorinated Bi- and Tri-Phenyl 2. 2,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibenzodioxin 3. Polychlorinated Dibenzodioxine 4. Polychlorinated Furane
The Baltimore plant alkylate bottoms (Vista 7050 Specialty Alkylate) has been specifically analyzed for PCB's. No PCB's have been detected. The analytical detection range for this product was in the 10-50 ppm range. The other specific chemicals were not analyzed for, however, based on process conditions there is no reason to suspect the presence of these chemicals.
The Lake Charles alkylate bottoms (Vista 7055L Specialty Alkylate) have not been analyzed for PCB's. There is no chlorine present in this process which would result in PCB or related compound formation.
Please contact me if you need further information on the above.
