REPORTS FEOM mSIDB I/AKASEHS
At the tins of our mooting of Division Managers in Maw York City# w requested that each of the send us a report showing the methods ahieh they would reeeasend for securing ad tabulating charts which. would indicata the individuals responsible for safety work in our customer com panies# as 'voli as the foras which titey would suggest for use in tack cleaning# inspection# and supervision# Host of these reports were re ceived promptly and wore studied in this office as well as in Cincinnati#
Final study of these reports is now taking place# and it is
expected that uniform instructions will be available to all of our divi
sions within the neat ten days#

The emphasis on safety work in our divisions since the Mew York meeting has brought about a greatly increased number of requesta for tank oleaning supervision. It le apparent from these requests that our di visions are rather hard pressed to supply trained safety men to supervise these additional tank cleanings# In view of the fact that we are positive
Td.il need an increased safety staff, m ls a w requested each division,
to select q u o additional rmn for isssediats training# Host of the divisions have isade their selections and as soon aa we receive thorn ail, we will &p<* prove or reject those selected end begin training#

It is the unanimous consensus of opinion song all ooneemed
that every field representative should have a moderate basic training in
tank cleaning# i'o that end we are editing and preparing copies of the fol
lowing*
1) safety i&aaal*
.
2) Ur# idchle *a fante Cleaning Heport*
3) Customer organisation charts showing tank eleaning responsi
bility#
4) Tank cleaning statistical forms for this operation at refine
eries* terminals, and bulk plants#
All of this infornation should be in the hands of every field representative
for study by the 10th of August#
Division meetings are to ba held during the month of September
at which time 'nvLewis and a representative from the Bsdiced Departs^
will thoroughly'discuss all safety problems for the bene\fit of all ropfS-
aoirfcativos# It is believed that sufficient study prior to these meetings
should familiarise all of our msn -with the fundamental problem which may he
enlarged upon by representatives of the nodical and Safely staffs at the
time of the meeting# If further training among the division personnel is
neoessary, it oaa be handled by the division safety representatives#
