c.o. D. Wood D.D.N. Handy 13th July, 1965 Michelin tyre Co, Ltd,, S toke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Hear Sire, PYROCLOR Thank you for your letter of the 12th July requesting information about handling precautions-for iyroclor. Ve are enclosing our Bulletin entitled "Pyroclor for transformers'1 and we should draw your attention particularly to Page 21 where recommendations are made regarding fumes about which you enquire, and also the treatment recommended in the event of this fluid being splashed on the skin. When Pyroclor is hot triohlorobensene is given off and this is the material referred to in Seotion 5 on Page 21. However, should an electrical fault develop and an aro pass beneath the surface of the fluid, or should the fluid be over heated, hydrogen chloride will be evolved. This is an irritating gas and should not be breathed even for short periods. If there is any further information you require please do not hesitate to contact us. Yours faithfully, J. M.
