Dr. R. A. Kehoe,
'
Dear Dr. Kehoe:
is
Attached hereto is a report ms.de to the Gulf Refining Company at New Orleans by one of their people, which is self explanatory .
After talking it over with Mr. Webb today, we thought it advisable to suggest to the Gulf people that one of your assis tants be sent.down to examine this case and make a report on same, but that your doctor would not represent himseif as being from the Ethyl Gasoline Corporation but merely act in the capacity of a doctor sent by the Gulf Refining Company.
I understand the man is in the hospital and if he should pass away, it would probably be better to have had an examination and report on him rather than for the Gulf people to be sued after his death.
I have a wire from Gulf this afternoon advising they like this suggestion and would like to have it carried out. They do not, however, tell me whom your doctor should communi cate with on the case before making his examination and I have wired them back asking for this information.
I don't know whether I will receive it in time to
put into a. postscript to this letter but, if not, will wire y ou
the first thing on Monday morning.

Of course we have no liability but mash to cooperate with the Gulf people. I don't" think they have any idea that the tetraethyl lead content in.Q-treated gasoline had anything to do with this man's illness.
If you do not approve this course of action, I think you had better get me on the 'phone Monday morning.
