Chemours is a world leader in terms of fluoropolymers and fluorinated gases (HFOs). Since more than a year, we are acvely engaged in exchanges with decision makers across the EU and Belgium on the future F-gases Regulaon and the PFAS Restricon but also Priority Substances Regulaon (Water Framework Direcve). Chemours is proud to develop a sustainable & responsible approach in terms of production of fluorinated solutions. Reduction of emissions to the lowest possible level, is certainly an objective we wish to promote & attain. Fluoropolymers are essential to many products contributing to the Green Deal: membranes for generation of green hydrogen, semiconductors, electification of mobility, etc. On the other hand, HFOs do have a very low warming potential and contribute to the fight against climate change. We recently met Vice-President Sefkovic but also Commissioners Sinkevicius and Breton while meetings took also place at Minister's level in France, the Netherlands and others. In Belgium and given its presence in Mechelen, meetings also took place in the Flemish Region and others are planned to be requested at Federal level and Walloon Regional level. Before the summer break, we had the pleasure to meet with Mr Auquier (in Cc). We are also looking forward to play a constructive role during the Belgian Presidency. The new President of the Thermal Sustainability Solutions Business (Chemours is divided in 3 businesses: TSSTitanium Dioxide and Fluoropolymers), Joe Martinko will be visiting Europe from the US, on the week of 5 September. A meeting is planned with Mr. Kurt Van Den Berghe, Director General DG Clima, some MEPs and a Ministerial exchange in Bucharest. In this respect, we would be extremely grateful if you would be available for a meeting, eventually on 4 or 5 September. Should these dates not be convenient, we would be pleased to organise the meeting at another time. The business President of Fluoropolymers will be visiting Europe mid September.
