SubJect: Wearing of Safety Glasses The recent occurenceB of lost time accidents would indicate some shortcomings in our safety program. One of these, and many are under Btudy, has been a laxness in the enforcement of safety rules and as a result there has also been a laxness in obeying the rules. In your June safety meetings on "Personal Safety Equipment", you have been Informed that enforcement of these rules was going to be strengthened in our continuing effort and with your help to make your Job safe. Classes or goggles are required to be worn at all times except, l) going to and from work (gate to control house), 2) in the con trol house, or 3) In the office buildings and cafeteria. Goggles are to be worn in the VCM operating area. Goggles may be worn in place of safety glasses. The following policy will be effective immediately in VCM: 1. Violation of the rules of safety glasses and goggles at any time is basis for formal reprimand. 2. After several, one or more, such reprimands, warning will be given that further violations will be grounds for stronger discipline. 3. Continued satisfactory service after a reprimand will eventually remove the threat of serious discipline for a future violation.
