Kaley for the discussion of the above subject. Those present were: vt>r. R. A. Kehoe Dr. G. Edgar Mr. J. C. Taylor Mr. J. T. Biehle Mr. 0. B. Lewis . Dr. Kehoe lead off the discussion by stating that his letter of April 28 to Mr. Kaley had been occasioned by wider distribution of Fluid to outside customers, and to the fact that the totals had caused a certain situation to arise at the plant where can filling is done. Any further in crease might necessitate new and expensive filling equipment. Dr. Edgar read the list to whom shipments of Fluid and lead in cans were made outside the oil industry in 1943. From this list several were noted as large users and justifying investigation. A comparison of shipments to large users for the first quarter of 1944 showed a decrease of 25% against 1943 Tor the first quarter. The list is to be checked by the Safety Department and reports submitted after calls have been made by our representatives to see if P.D.M. (partial drum mix) plants can be substituted utilizing ten gallon,.drums instead of cans. While the downward tendency for the first quarter was noted, it was generally agreed this could not be counted upon to continue. Dr. Edgar stated that use of 3-C engines for test work required large quantities of gasoline, and it was his opinion large Fluid consumption might be expected for some time. Further, he felt we should provide adequate can filling facilities for such a volume. * Dr. Kehoe agreed to have blenders placed under medical supervision at those places where, after investigation and approval, drum blending equipment is installed. .
