Dear P4 , dear Toke,
a request for a meeting by the company Kautex Texron reached us last week. They would like to present an application that is currently in development. Below I translated their message as closely as possible:
"Dear Sir or Madam,
I am working on future products in the field of electromobility in the development department of Kautex Textron, a leading global supplier based in Germany. There, I am primarily concerned with novel cooling systems that, among other things, enable rapid battery charging in order to increase public acceptance of environmentally friendly electromobility.
The cooling medium here is of the latest generation refrigerant (HFO), which is now possibly being discussed in the PFAS initiative, although according to my information there is very different information for the specific refrigerant (0% TFA formation to 20% TFA formation depending on the study). My request is to present to you the application we are currently developing under internally selected emission guidelines and discuss it in terms of the refrigerant. During my research, I noticed that this application for battery cooling, or for the safety-relevant prevention of thermal runaway of the battery, is not yet addressed in the studies of the Federal Environment Agency, for example, although a non-flammable refrigerant is the only alternative here.

As this use might fall into both the category on F-gases as well as electronic devices, I forward this mail to you both. So far, we have not responded yet. Our colleagues at UBA are only interested in a meeting with them, if Kautex Textron would be open to primarily answer questions concerning electro mobility.
Could you get back to us by the end of the week, and inform us, whether you are interested in a meeting with them?
I would then gather the answers and respond to Kautex Textron accordingly.
