RE: MARINITE REPLACEMENT MATERIALS
Vancouver is testing severed replacement materials for marinite EDC plug-off dam boards. This is the only item made of marinite for which no adequate replacement has been found, excluding headers which are to be ceramic. Included are silica boards made by M+T Manufacturing (which appears satis factory, to date) and composite boards of LOS ceramic moldable/graphite or . superrigidized Kaowool board/graphite.
During your October 28, 1975, visit to Vancouver, you suggested R-641 material as a good candidate for the dam boards. I have attached a drawing of our board and request that 3-4 boards be made for our evaluation.
