AGCCE Regulation 61 - Air screening/monitoring AGC Chemicals - A7 Method Proposal DRAFT.pdf
Follow up Completed
Hi
As discussed, informaon below regarding air emissions screening/monitoring.
Please could you share with your internal air quality team and feedback. Happy to set up a meeng in the new year where we can discuss and finalise with our air monitoring team.
Screening proposal:
A7 screening: 1x 6-hour monitoring sample for the screening (PFBA & PFHxA) please see aached dra methodology. Element have confirmed that the Element Deeside cannot analyse the resin trap and filter currently for these target
pollutants in accordance with OTM 45. Element are proposing to sample following the principles of EN 1911; an isokinetic sample with glass fibre filtration and Deionised water absorbers (the filter will be discarded) and this will then be analysed by the Deeside lab using
LCMSMS. Also, due to the size of the duct the isokinec rate will be based on the inial velocity traverse.
Monitoring proposals:
A5 monitoring: 2x4 hr samples over 4 days throughout 2024 (quarterly)
A4 monitoring: Oven use is dependent on demand for lubricant grades, e.g. in 2023 L168 oven was only in use Q1-Q2. Propose 10hr sample campaign which would cover the full oven cycle, this will happen on 2 occasions throughout 2024.
A7 monitoring: Plan on installing an online GC so 24hr samples could be possible for C6H at PFBE (at least). AGCCE are planning on combining commissioning and validation of the GC with screening and if feasible (and screened in) will include PFBA & PFHxA on the online GC. If this is not possible 2x4hr samples to be taken over 4 days throughout 2024.
Kind regards
