In this area is located an estimated 5,000,000 tons of iron ore, which is being extracted at a rate of 36,000 tons per year. The Homeeourt works is an integrated plant, consisting of an electric power plant, mine, coke ovens, blast furnaces, open-hearth furnaces, basic-Bessemer converters, slabbing and blooming mill, producing department, maintenance service shops, and all other departments necessary for complete operation. For the rod mill the Elliott Company, through its representatives in France, Parsons & YVhittemore, Inc. of New York, and their Paris affiliate, Lyddtm & Cie., furnished the equipment necessary for the complete drive of the mill to produce 160,000 tons of finished I lew of 600-kw (S04-hp), 360f000-rpm, 600-volt main mill drive motor. il'OWKHKAX.
