Mr. L. M. Merritt Division of Safety & Hygiene Industrial Commission of Ohio Columbus 15, Ohio
Dear Les:
In an off moment I accepted an invitation to talk at the forthcoming meeting of the American Ceramics Society on "Health Hazards in the Ceramics Industry--Their Control." Dr. Rutherford Johnstone, who speaks first, is going to talk about the toxicological and medical as pects.
I think you have made more investigations on control of health hazards in ceramics plants than anyone else and I know you've published a lot of material. A good deal of this we ha^v on file, but I don't believe our file is complete. Do you have extra copies of any of your papers that you could send me?
Also--do you have any special points you feel should be emphasized--or de-emphasized--which would be appropriate for ACS consumption?
I know a little bit about the glass business but have had no experience with the other branches of the ceramics industry. You, Incidentally, would have been a much more appropriate choice for this assignment. I'm not too sure how ceramic engineers divide up the field. What, in your opinion, are the main divisions of the ceramics industry?
Any thoughts or help you can give me on the above will be very welcome.
Personal regards.
W. G. Hazard - Industrial Relations Division M
