BASIC APPLICATION LO-TEMP EQUIPtffiHT~&'PUCWORK SECTION 3 Page 18 6 APPLICATION SQUARE EQUIPMENT & DUCTWORK 6A SQUARE EQUIPMENT 6A1 FLANGED JOINT INSULATION 6A1.1 Flange covers shall be fabricated with 1^M thick foamglas insulation. They shall be applied prior to the insulation on the equipment body. 6A1.2 The flange insulation shall be made to fit close around the flanges allowing the minimum of void. (See figure 22) The sides of the flange insulation shall extend to the body as shown in figure 22A & B. 6A1.3 The contact surfaces (insul. to body) shall be buttered with 30-45 sealing mastic of sufficient thickness to insure a good seal between body and flange insulation. (See 22B) 6A1.4 30-45 sealing mastic or 31-99 P> V. A. mastic shall be used as the joint cement (insul. to insul.) between the sections of the flange covers. (See Figure 22B.) FIGURE 22A FIGURE 22 8
