Implications of the potential inappropriate classifications of lithium chloride, carbonate, and hydroxide
On Dec 31 2021, the Risk Assessment Committee (RAC) of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) published an opinion proposing the classification of lithium carbonate, chloride and hydroxide as Category 1A1 for toxicity to reproduction. The Commission is now discussing the opinion with the Competent Authorities for REACH and CLP (CARACAL). The final decision will be taken by the Commission and included in a draft delegated act in the second half of 2022.
