Calandra Industrial BIO-TEST Laboratories, Inc. Northbrook, Illinois ABSTRACT ' Dominant Lethal Mutagenic Study with Three Polychlorinated Biphenyls in Albino Mice. Kennedy, G. L. , Keplingcr, M. L. , Fancher, Otis E. , Wheeler, E. P. and Calandra, J. C. (0000). Toxicol. Appl. Pharraa-ol, 00, 00 - 00. ' A study was conducted to determine the mutagenic activity of 3 poly chlorinated biphenyls (Aroclors 1242, 1254 and 1260) in albino mice. Treat ment of male mice consisted of single intraperitoneal injections of test ma terials at levels of 500 and 1000 mg/kg, administered as solutions in corn oil. Positive control males received 100 mg/kg of methyl methanesulfon- ate (MM5) in corn oil and control animals were treated with corn oil alone. Males wore mated with untreated females 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 weeks following treatment. There was evidence of a dominant lethal effect among MMS-treatcd animals for matings after 1 and 2 weeks, but no evidence for dominant lethalfollowing treatment with the Aroclors. MONS 04U963
